Needle-free wrinkle treatment works like botox

Wrinkle relief for those whose fear of needles outweighs their vanity may be on the horizon.

A topical gel containing botulinum toxin type A — the same toxin as that used in injected Anti wrinkle treatment — helped reduce moderate to severe crow’s feet wrinkling around the eyes, according to two preliminary studies.

“The gel contains botulinum toxin type A and a peptide carrier, which is what helps the botulinum toxin gel penetrate the skin,” says researcher Michael Kane, MD, a New York City plastic surgeon.

Simon Cowell & Anti wrinkle treatment: Vote on how he looks

Talent show titan Simon Cowell just can’t win when it comes to sprucing up with a little serum.

Did you catch the debut of his “The X Factor” the other night?

When a blubbery-looking guy onstage suddenly exposed himself, and then pranced around the stage that way (dancing badly to boot, I might add), the crowd went berserk.

At one point, fellow X-Factor judge Paula Abdul, looking mighty queasy, high-tailed it to the ladies’ room, presumably to pray to the porcelain god.

But Simon Cowell just sat there, a pillar of placid, Anti wrinkle treatment-y composure, with eyebrows that never budged.

Cowell, 51, has called his wrinkle-erasing injections ”no more unusual than toothpaste”.

Facts about fillers instead of surgery

Fillers are the solution for most women who want to combat the signs of aging, says dermatologist Dr. Tony Nakhla. Injected fillers remove, correct or even reverse the skin deterioration – which is thousands of dollars cheaper than plastic surgery.

“Don’t try to dial the clock back 15 or 20 years,” he says. “You can look great for your age. Your focus should be on looking your personal best.

“And the cost is thousands of dollars cheaper than surgery, can last two years, and doesn’t require downtime or anesthesia.”

Nakhla is the head of the OC Skin Institute, with offices in Santa Ana, San Clemente and Laguna Niguel. A board-certified dermatologist, he also is a skin cancer surgeon, cosmetic surgeon and osteopathic physician with training in traditional and holistic medicine as well as nutrition

Plastic Surgery Likely Responsible For Putin’s New Look

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin may have plastic surgery to thank for his newly youthful appearance as he prepares to run again for Russia’s presidency, a group of plastic surgeons told The (UK) Daily Mail.

“I have no doubt at all that he has had quite a bit of surgery,” Jan Stanek, a UK cosmetic surgeon, told the newspaper. Putin has announced his intention to run for president in the election next March.

Pictures of Putin, 58, from his first term as president a decade ago, show wrinkles and dark circles under his eyes. But during his appearance at the United Russia congress Saturday his skin appeared taut and smooth.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters: “As far as I know he hasn’t been going through any surgical interventions.”

Stanek said he likely had a number of plastic surgery procedures including a facelift, cheek-fillers, a brow-lift, Anti wrinkle treatment and removal of bags under his eyes.

“Unfortunately, it has made him look a little odd. By lifting the brow so much it has a feminizing effect, which is not what you want,” said Stanek.

What Everyone Should Know About Anti wrinkle treatment and Facial Fillers

With the growing demand for plastic surgery, it’s no surprise technology has created less invasive medical products and procedures to help erase years off your appearance. You’ve likely seen the ads and commercials for products such as Anti wrinkle treatment and Juvederm, but do you really know what they do? Before going in for a “quick tune-up,” here are some pointers from Capital Region experts.

First, it’s important to know the different between Anti wrinkle treatment and facial fillers. Since they are both administered as injections, the products can often get incorrectly lumped into the same category, when they actually focus on different facial areas. “Anti wrinkle treatment is used to temporarily relax hyperactive facial muscles,” says Dr. Steven Yarinsky of Saratoga Springs Plastic Surgery. “[It's] mostly used for treating the active frown lines between the brows, forehead and crow’s feet lines, but can be used anywhere muscles are active (lips, neck, etc.).”

RARE WRINKLES

When actress Megan Fox declared in July that she is Anti wrinkle treatment-free, she released photos of herself that were intended to demonstrate that she could move her face and wrinkle her forehead.

But one photo of her forehead showed such unusual wrinkles that doctors declared they must be the creation of Photoshop rather than Mother Nature.

“Looks like Megan is just as talented with Photoshop as she is in entertainment,” said plastic surgeon and blogger Dr. Nicholas Vendemia of New York. “Those lines on her forehead are totally fake. … Muscles in the forehead and brow simply don’t create curved wrinkles like that.”

Some local cosmetic doctors were also skeptical.

Doctors warn against potentially dangerous home Anti wrinkle treatment treatments

While some cost-conscious consumers are turning to “Do-It-Yourself Anti wrinkle treatment” kits in these tough economic times, experts say those kits could cost you your life.

Dr. Tracy Favreau, an attending dermatologist at Nova Southeastern University, says buying and using one of those kits comes with dangerous risks.

“For a patient to buy a kit like that and just think that if there’s an instruction sheet that they can use to inject the muscles of the face for facial expression, it’s a catastrophe waiting to happen,” Favreau said.

Which side do you sleep on? Can you tell?

Liz Jones has revealed all the information about the plastic surgery she has had, and this week she explained about her new addiction to fillers.

In her column, she recognises that it is easy for people to become fixated about getting plastic sugery, as her own actions are mimmicking this.

The 53 year old also admitted that she had to have more filler on the side of her face that she sleeps on.

Bernadette Harte, non-surgical training manager at The Harley Medical Group explains why this is:

“Firstly the side that you sleep on regularly will have more fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and the naso labial fold (nose to mouth line) on that side will be deeper – this is because the face is pressed against the pillow for an extended amount of time, causing it to crease.

Carol Vorderman –  Right side – She appears to have more lines on this side.
Nancy Dell’Olio – Right side – This side appears to have a greater loss of collagen, as it is not as plump or elastic as the other.
Alex Jones – Its possible she sleeps on her back or with no pillow at all as both sides are quite even.
Kate Winslet – I would say she mainly sleeps on both sides but her naso labial fold is slightly deeper on the left side.
Victoria Beckham – She appears to sleep on both sides – as neither shows more lines than the other however this could be a result of Anti wrinkle treatment and Filler treatments.
Simon Cowell – Right side –  he has more lines around the right eye.
Gary Barlow – Left side –  his naso labial line is deeper.

DIY Anti wrinkle treatment Draws Strong Warnings From Doctors (VIDEO)

Just because you can do it yourself, doesn’t mean you should.

Doctors are warning against the dangers of ‘Do-It-Yourself Anti wrinkle treatment’ treatments, reports MSNBC.

“For a patient to buy a kit … and just think that if there’s an instruction sheet that they can use to inject the muscles of the face for facial expression, it’s a catastrophe waiting to happen,” Dr. Tracy Favreau, a dermatologist at Nova Southeastern University told MSNBC.

According to Favreau, many of the kits comes from the developing world or a bootleg Anti wrinkle treatment lab in Arizona. She warned of “horrible results almost killing people.”

The low costs of some DIY kits can seem appealing, but you could end up paying more in the long run to fix the results one doctor told CBS.
