RF Microneedling is More Comfortable Than Older Techniques
RF Microneedling is effective, and backed by a number of scientific studies, but anaesthetic was often needed as the process was painful. Patients would also have red skin in the treated area for a few days. Well technology has evolved, and we now use Exion devices which eliminate many of these downsides. While redness is an unavoidable consequence of the treatment, with these new devices it should have settled down by the next day. These newer devices combine artificial intelligence and radio frequencies which means they don’t need to go as deep so it’s now less painful. The treatment also used to require the device to be passed over each part of the skin multiple times. The newer technology only needs to be passed over once which reduces both the pain and the time the treatment takes. Each session will now take between 45 minutes and an hour.

How long does a session fo Exion RF microneedling take?
One of the advances of Exion RF is that it’s a single-pass device. Older generation devices required multiple passes over the treatment area to produce a result. But thanks to the AI and RF, Exion only requires a single pass meaning a session is only 45-60mins long.
Can I get Exion RF microneedling while pregnant?
Unfortunately, as with most cosmetic procedures and medical grade products, we cannot perform Exion during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
Will I be red after Exion RF microneedling?
Yes. There is not microneedling device that won’t leave you red following treatment. However, because it is a single-pass treatment, and the needles don’t need to penetrate as deeply as other devices, the redness resolves much more quickly. Older devices would leave patients red for 3-4 days – with Exion, most people’s redness has resolved completely by the next morning.
